W.A.T.C.H. – World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc.’s President Joan Siff recently stated that 3 million units of toys have been recalled in the past year. These toys were recalled because they were deemed defective and could injure children.. (Isn’t it good that they were still on shelves and not being used by kids?)
The toy industry is extremely large and generates $22 billion per year. With that kind of income and power to investigate and develop items for our children’s enjoyment, shouldn’t the manufacturers, distributors and sellers in this industry be doing all that is possible to make their toys safer for our children? Of course, they should and we, as consumers, need to demand nothing less.
