Lovingston, VA – May 4 – A woman was killed Friday afternoon after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 29.
Constance Bradshaw, 69, was heading to a local supermarket around 1:20 p.m. when the accident happened, reports AugustaFreePress.com.
She was driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon, which was struck by the tractor-trailer as she attempted to make a left turn into the supermarket parking lot.
After the driver of the tractor-trailer, Yosef Malik, 53, hit the Toyota, he crashed into a 2003 Honda that was leaving the same parking lot.
Philip Theisen, 60, was driving the Honda at the time of the accident. He was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of nonfatal injuries.
Malik was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Both Malik and Theisen were wearing seat belts at the time of impact.
Bradshaw sustained fatal injuries and died en-route to the hospital.
Police say investigations are continuing at this time.
