Two pedestrians were killed Thursday night after being hit by separate vehicles in Prince William County and Campbell County.
According to reports by myfoxdc.com, the fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Prince William County occurred near Dale Boulevard and Forestdale Avenue in Woodbridge.
The pedestrian was identified as Howard Edward Rice, 42, a resident of Woodbridge.
Police say the driver was not injured and remained at the scene. Investigations are currently under way.
Official reports by WSET.com said the other pedestrian was killed on Route 501 just north of Route 40 around 8:20 p.m.
This victim was identified as Nancy Shorter, 83, of Brookneal, Virginia.
Police said the driver could not avoid hitting Shorter, as she was not walking in a designated crosswalk. They also said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
