Botetourt County, VA – June 14 – An out-of-state truck driver was injured on the job Thursday afternoon while hauling frozen food from Pennsylvania.
According to official reports by Roanoke.com, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 81.
Alan Lee Day, 55, ran his 2013 Volvo truck off the right side of the highway, struck an embankment and overturned.
Virginia State Police Sgt. Rob Carpentieri said Day was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Day was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.
He has been charged with reckless driving.
