Howard County, MD – July 26 – A local highway was temporarily shut down after a tractor-trailer accident.
According to official reports by WUSA9.com, the accident occurred just after midnight on the ramp along Interstate 95 North and Route 100 West.
Police said the tractor-trailer was hauling 40,000 pounds of sugar. It overturned on the ramp, spilling sugar and 60 gallons of diesel fuel onto the highway.
The driver escaped from his vehicle before HAZMET crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
Cleanup crews arrived at the scene and cleared it by approximately 1:40 a.m., according to officials.
No charges have been filed. Authorities are continuing investigations at this time.
