Norfolk, VA – June 5 – A juvenile was hospitalized Tuesday night when an oncoming truck crashed into her.
According to official reports by WAVY.com, the accident occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of 38th Street and Killam Avenue.
Norfolk Police Department spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson said the incident resulted when the girl stepped into the roadway as an oncoming truck was approaching.
The girl was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The truck driver remained at the scene of the accident.
Police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the accident.
Investigations are continuing at this time.
