Alexandria, VA – June 6 – A local man has been found guilty on four charges relating to a fatal DUI accident in January.
According to official reports by WJLA.com, the accident occurred on January 15 when Victor Aldana, 22, struck a young boy and his mother.
Brian Hernandez-Chavez, 8, was walking with his mother on Duke Street when the incident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His mother suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, including two broken legs and a fractured pelvis.
Police said Aldana’s blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal level when the incident took place.
Aldana has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.
He is scheduled for sentencing on August 2.
