Education and Background
Jim Parrish graduated from the University of Virginia, where he earned both his undergraduate (1994) and law degrees (1998). In his early career, Jim worked for insurance companies as an attorney handling accident claims and disputes. He left the insurance industry to help accident victims overcome the bad faith tactics of the insurance companies and get the compensation they deserve.
Since opening the Parrish Law Firm in April 2004, Jim has dedicated his time to serving Virginia accident victims. Outside of his contributions to the law, Jim has spearheaded community programs focused on helping local families, schools, and children.

Parrish Law Firm Community Programs
Jim Parrish and the Parrish Law Firm have founded two community programs to support schools and children in need.
Wild Summer: Kids at Play – A program designed to help kids get outside more. Research shows us that kids that spend more time in the outdoors show significantly greater physical, mental and emotional health than those that do not. We’ve committed to giving away $20,000 worth of outdoor play equipment to kids of all ages!
The Parrish Law Firm’s 500 Coat Drive – Many of us are lucky to have our pick of coats based on weather conditions outdoors. Unfortunately, many of our community’s women, children and men are not so lucky. In 2021, we had a goal of gathering 100 coats and our final tally was 273 coats! We knew with the right amount of effort, we could increase our original goal by at least 500%!
