Nissan Motor Company has recalled specific 2012 model Titan pickup trucks for mistaken seating-capacity labels that may lead drivers to overload their vehicles with passengers and increase the possibility of an accident, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Tight regulations in terms of safety in the auto industry, along with drivers who do not use common safety sense when operating their vehicles have led to the recall.
Nissan specifies 918 Titan trucks built from June-July, 2011, with the ‘sports package appearance’ that have the wrong seating capacity information on the tire placard, indicating that the truck is built to accommodate six people when they are in reality designed for five. As a result, these trucks violate the federal motor vehicles safety rules.
Titan owners who fit the recall can take their trucks to a Nissan dealer where they will install a new label, free of charge.
