Arlington, VA – May 14 – A driver was hospitalized Monday morning following an accident caused by a tractor-trailer.
The incident occurred when a tractor-trailer heading south on S. Glebe Road near S. Walter Reed Drive lost two of its rear wheels, reports ARLnow.com.
The wheels flew off and struck a Mercedes SUV that was travelling northbound on the same street.
According to Arlington County police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck, the driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene of the accident. By 11:45 a.m., both the tractor-trailer and the SUV had been towed away.
