King William County, VA – June 5 – A fifth grader was killed Sunday afternoon after being involved in a fatal car crash.

According to official reports by dailypress.com, the accident happened around 4 p.m. on Route 30 when a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee rear-ended a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am.

The initial collision caused the Grand Am to crash into another vehicle in front of it, a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Alec Rammell, 11, was inside the Grand Am at the time of the accident. He was transported to VCU Medical Center by flight for treatment of serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The Grand Am driver and two other children inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, as well as the drivers of the other two vehicles.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
