Arlington, VA – July 30 – An unidentified man was arrested Monday afternoon after crashing his car into a local restaurant.

According to official reports by arlnow.com, the accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the Bangkok 54 restaurant on 2919 Columbia Pike.

Officials said the man struck a nearby tree before crashing into the building.

He tried to run from the scene of the accident when police arrived, witnesses said. A box of beer was found in the back of the man’s vehicle.

Police arrested the man after finding him a couple blocks away. He was evaluated for minor injuries and taken to a local hospital, where he will be tested for drug and alcohol usage.

Investigations of the incident are continuing at this time.
