UPDATE: Carl Martin Jr., 56, has been identified as the driver responsible for crashing his vehicle into a 7-Eleven in Manassas, VA.
Martin was attempting to make a left turn onto Manassas Drive from Centreville Road at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he lost control of the car, traveling through the parking lot and settling inside the convenience store.
The car’s engine ignited for a short while but was extinguished and the damage to the car is estimated at $10,000. Martin was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. No one else was injured.
Martin has been charged with driving a vehicle without liability insurance and has a court date for Jan. 17.
Original Story: A car crashed into a 7-Eleven store in Manassas Park, Va on Tuesday, sending one person to the hospital, reports the Manassas Patch.
The car accident occurred on Route 28, near the corner of a main access road and Manassas Drive on Tuesday evening.
Police have only released a few details on the accident, and it’s not clear who the injured person was; whether they were the driver of the car or a pedestrian or employee inside the 7-Eleven.
